Hello dear forum members,
here is the first draft of our planned single-family home. I would appreciate your ideas, criticism, tips, and tricks. Sorry that dimensions and some furnishings are still missing. I am only interested in the rough floor plan for now.
Between the living and dining areas, there will be a fireplace or a decorative element serving as a room divider. In the pergola, which should have a solar glass roof, a pool is planned if the budget allows.
We plan to build using a construction manager or site supervisor with separate trade contracts, using solid construction methods.
Thank you very much for your opinions.

The upper floor was almost completely altered. Well, I wouldn’t exactly say that about the upper floor.

In my opinion, without losing any living comfort. There was really nothing left to remove anyway. Having a bedroom trapped behind the bathroom as the main design feature—which every tiny change to the plan must survive—is quite comical. It seems to me you have lost more brewers’ and maltsters’ sense than @Shiny86 *shakes head*
Why don’t you finally have your dream house design interpreted by a professional planner?

Henning_8521 Apr 2020 16:04I am increasingly coming to the conclusion that I am in the wrong place here and the question arises as to who really lacks understanding of everyday routines and living comfort. It seems to me that, apart from Rick’s property, people here are only used to catalog homes.
I don’t know how much time you spend in the bedroom aside from sleep. For me, it’s less than 5 minutes. And every trip from or to the bedroom first passes through the bathroom or from the bathroom. This is the case for 99% of people. This particular layout was described by the architects as especially cozy.
This floor plan has been revised by two independent architects with the comment, “this is how I would build as well.”
Could you perhaps (@ypg @kaho674 @11ant) simply refrain from commenting on my posts and allow other users the opportunity to contribute constructively? I would appreciate it greatly if you could simply disregard me!

Seriously? You’re offended because your “let me try an architecture degree on my own” creation wasn’t well received? Others have to study for years to achieve that.
Well, maybe you’ll find someone who flatters you. It’s just a pity about the money – but that’s not my problem.

...and frankly, I’ve lost the motivation to scroll back, partly because of the arrogance in assuming you know how 99% of people live.
