Why is the design the way it is? For example
After several visits to model home parks and browsing through various catalogs from common prefabricated house suppliers, where we always found something to critique, we designed the floor plan ourselves.

Our plot is located at a cul-de-sac and on a slight north-facing slope. It is planned so that the basement is open on one side, allowing the rooms there to be used as living space. The terrace is on the south side.

I hope everything is readable in the drawings; the dimensions are initially for orientation only.

What do you think of our designs?

Without the 2 m (6.6 ft) line, the upper floor cannot be assessed.
Regardless of the roof pitch: with about a 1 m (3.3 ft) knee wall, the upper floor would work. I built a similar house last year (with one adult and two children), and everyone is happy.

then it is okay. Just don’t draw any hypothetical lines.

Now, the slope would be the only interesting factor to see if this works.

There is an elevation difference of 6 m (20 feet) across the entire plot. Within the building area, the elevation difference is 4 m (13 feet).

Children in the basement and parents on the upper floor?
Are there specific reasons for this spatial separation?
Vicky Pedia22 Feb 2020 18:24
Is there a cross section of the terrain? 4 meters (13 feet) is quite significant.

To be honest, I don’t really understand the plans.
Why are there already detailed window designs?
It would be helpful if the entire questionnaire was completed and a site plan was provided, as that would clarify many things.
I assume you don’t have children yet?
Children in the north, a bathroom in the basement without windows and located internally due to the slope... but a spacious staircase and a top-quality master bedroom floor...
I once stayed in a basement room on the north side during a course. The room was damp and never saw a single ray of sunlight.

PS: The chimney is missing on the upper floor and would probably be located right in front of the office door.
