Hello everyone,
I have made a few changes to our floor plan. 00 is the current plan and 01 is my proposed version.
The advantage of 01 is having a window in the kitchen and more space in the utility room. If a covered entrance is desired, that can be added (it does not necessarily have to be a side entrance door from the carport).
What do you think?
Another consideration is the entrance door from the living room, where a sliding door would make the most sense. However, there is a lack of about 17 cm (7 inches) of space for this. There were two suggestions: 1. extend the wardrobe 17 cm (7 inches) into child’s room 1, 2. make the study, utility room, and kitchen 17 cm (7 inches) narrower. I don’t really like either of these options.
Does anyone maybe have a better idea?
Any other suggestions and improvements?
We would really appreciate your opinions.

Best regards

I like this version better as well. Maybe you could also link your original floor plan thread?

@admin, could I ask you to move this thread to where my original floor plan thread is? :-)

I just noticed this :-( I correct my sentence to use "dich" instead of "dir".

I want to mention this here as well: In our area, two parking spaces arranged one behind the other are not allowed. Each parking space must be freely accessible. I’m not sure if that’s the case where you are, but it might be worth checking just in case.

The door from the already very small utility room to the garage definitely needs to be painted, regardless of which version you choose. Otherwise, I wouldn’t want to go without a window in the kitchen.

I believe you currently have only one child, right? Otherwise, I would swap the bedroom with Child 2’s room and consider whether to create direct access from that room to the terrace or garden (just to keep things balanced *g*). Of course, as long as Child 2 is still very young, you can happily use that room as the parents’ bedroom.

All doors relevant for the child in a wheelchair I would convert to sliding doors.

Thank you for the notes.
The cars are shown just for illustration purposes to see if two cars can fit there and because a car parked in reverse allows more free space for a wheelchair. Otherwise, the carport is about 6 x 3.5 meters (20 x 11.5 feet) and the storage room is 3 x 3.5 meters (10 x 11.5 feet).
The second reason for the side entrance door was to avoid dirty shoes, but with that I wouldn’t enter the house without cleaning anyway. So it makes more sense to have a frost-proof outdoor faucet. (Where exactly? On the carport side or terrace side? The brief only includes one frost-proof faucet.)
For the bedrooms and child’s room 2, we made a compromise because we don’t want/can’t reduce the bathroom size, and child 2’s room is too small for a bedroom with a double bed and wardrobe, so this was accepted as the only solution.

The garage end of the neighbor on the right is 14.5 meters (48 feet) away from the boundary point, so it faces the kitchen window (I just learned this today). Does it still make sense to have a window for the kitchen?
(The attached neighbor’s garage is marked in blue)
