Why Is the Design the Way It Is? For example:
The house is located directly on the street. Distance to the neighbors on both sides is 3 meters (10 feet), so no possibility to adjust the width.
The entrance is on the side. Since the house faces the street, the living room, dining area, and kitchen are planned on the north side, facing the garden. All other rooms face the street side. Knee wall is 1.80 m (6 feet), roof pitch 30 degrees. Bedrooms and bathroom also face the garden side.
The pantry is currently hidden but we are considering integrating it into the technical room. Underfloor heating with heat pump. Photovoltaic system is also installed (west side).

Be careful when choosing an architect. Whether someone is formally authorized to use this professional title is easy to verify; their membership number with the chamber is usually on their stamp. The service owed is simply a design that can be approved — whether they have to make revisions is not guaranteed. Legally, they are unfortunately not required to deliver a beautiful result or show passion for their work, so you have to take responsibility yourself to choose the right person. I gathered that the client’s relationship with the service provider still had room for improvement from the remark that he rotated the house and changed the stairs without consultation. For me, that is not open to interpretation but a clear sign that the guy does not comply.
Financial damages caused by repeated rounds in the building permit / planning permission process can be a serious issue. But just as Pastor Braun knows the Bible better than Bishop Hemmelrath, this kind of thing also happens among architects. In large firms, single-family houses are often treated as "small potatoes" and planned at the kids’ table by junior interns.

I never said the architect did that without consultation. Of course, it was coordinated with us. The question here was simply why there were six design drafts, and I replied that, among other things, the roof had been rotated at one point and we had tried different staircase layouts in the floor plan. Everything was, of course, agreed upon with us. Fortunately, I am still assertive enough.H
