ᐅ Floor plan of 165 m² with basement – your opinion?

Hello!

- What do you think of our plan (carport is on the north side)?
- What could be improved or where do you see potential issues?
- We’re also not sure whether the access to the upper floor should be from the living area or from the entrance hall. What are your thoughts?

Which entrance hall?

Now I’m finally writing it down:

Quick thoughts:
- I like the layout and the size.
- The path to the pantry is too long and, considering that you also have a basement, it’s impractical.
- I find the children's rooms very spacious. Here, I would see if the upstairs could be redesigned somewhat to create a parents’ wing and provide the children with a small bathroom. I’m sure this would secure more family harmony than children’s rooms of just under 17m² (183 ft²).
- For obvious reasons, I would definitely avoid having the stairs lead upstairs from the living room.

Nice floor plan. I would definitely enclose the tall kitchen cabinets.

Which entrance hall?

I actually mean the lobby.

I’m not really keen on having to go through the kitchen from the entrance to get to the living room. And having the main entrance to the house only from the garage corner doesn’t look very elegant either… even if there are two 911s parked there 😉 – or am I misreading the floor plan?
