Hello fellow home builders,

We are now just about to take over the house and are planning the floor coverings. We will of course need a self-leveling compound on top of the screed, but which one?

What are your experiences, especially regarding manufacturers and the thickness to use?

We have narrowed it down to the store brand from Hornbach (Akkit 201) and Knauf self-leveling compound. The price should stay reasonable, since there is always room to spend more, as we have seen.

The area is about 150m² (1,615 sq ft).

Thank you very much for your help and information.

Which type of screed is it? Cement screed can be ground if it is uneven. Anhydrite screed must be ground to remove the laitance layer and to ensure proper adhesion of any subsequent layers. As previously mentioned, Uzin is the best option but also quite expensive.
