Hello everyone,

I am facing the following challenge:
I am currently renovating my house (built in 1927). In one of the rooms, I had to remove the old floor structure (see the left part of my sketch).

The old structure mainly consisted of slag infill.
Now the floor structure needs to be renewed, so I would like to install a vapor retarder under the joists and the new dry fill layer (left part of the sketch).
Does anyone have experience with this? How have you built a similar floor structure?

Information about the floor:

The floor consists of slag concrete, which was used only as a filler or base material for the former slag infill. It is framed or supported by steel beams.

Below the affected room, there is a cellar space that is more or less dry.

Thank you very much in advance.
