Hello,
we are currently building a garage with a basement next to our house (not directly attached). The basement will have full thermal insulation (ceiling initially not insulated). Basement and garage are concrete constructions.
We do not plan to heat the basement, possibly only in winter when temperatures drop below 5°C (41°F) using a heater with a thermostat.
Now my question(s):
What floor structure would you recommend?
Thanks in advance,

- I was thinking about somehow insulating the garage floor (so that the basement is insulated from above as well, or would it be better to insulate the basement ceiling?) and then applying a floor covering... I have no idea what type of insulation, screed, or other materials to use, and possibly tiles as a final layer.
- The same applies to the floor in the basement, although it doesn't need to be anything special... does it need a screed layer (possibly dry screed panels?), or can tiles be installed directly on the concrete, or even laminate flooring directly on the concrete floor?
It would be great if someone could give me tips on how to build up the floor and which materials to use...
Thanks in advance,
