We have, of course, considered having a roof terrace. However, it could only be accessed through one of the children's bedrooms. The other bedroom would only be reachable via a detour through the garage.
Since we have a 1300m² (approximately 14,000 sq ft) plot of land, we don’t really see the need for an additional terrace. Upstairs are only the children’s bedrooms. Also, the terrace would be more visible than the garden. Therefore, we decided to save the €15,000 and forgo the roof terrace.
Nevertheless, I have inquired with the local authorities to find out if a roof terrace would be more likely to be approved.
