Attached is a photo of our porch roof. Water does not drain because the drain piece is positioned higher than the rest of the roof. Since there is little sunlight in that area, the water remains standing as shown in the picture for several days. If it rains again in the meantime, the puddle refills, so this is how it usually looks unless it doesn’t rain for a whole week or longer.
Is this poor workmanship or acceptable? What is your opinion?
The construction company says it is absolutely normal and permissible.

Allthewayup27 Sep 2025 16:44The water does not always need to drain away completely. Why not put some decorative gravel on that small area since it’s visible from above? Fit the drain with a round grate to ensure that enough water can always flow out.
