Hello,

we have now completed the planning of our kitchen.

Now we are working on the installation plan for our builder.

1. Question: How many water connections are usually installed in a kitchen? One for the sink and one for the dishwasher, or do they typically share one?

2. Question: What do you think about a side-by-side refrigerator with a fixed water connection?

We believe a fixed water connection is the better and more convenient solution for a refrigerator with an ice maker.

Can the refrigerator be connected to the same water line, or does it definitely need its own separate fixed water connection?

The dishwasher is about 80cm (31 inches) away from the refrigerator, and the sink is about 150cm (59 inches) away. So, for the refrigerator, we would need a hose of about 150cm (59 inches). Is that still short enough?

Is there also an AquaStop option available for the refrigerator hose?

Yes, the hose should always be as short as possible, regardless of what you connect, especially when it comes to food-related applications like drinking water.
A fixed connection is always better; the tank causes even more issues (cleaning, odors, limited capacity).

The pipe bursting is highly unlikely because 1/4 inch hoses with the appropriate fittings are used here, similar to those in pneumatic and hydraulic systems. These usually withstand significantly higher pressures and fit securely in their fittings. Operator error is not considered here.

ok thanks

but is a hose length of 150-200cm (which is already calculated very generously) still acceptable as a maximum? Or should we already consider installing a dedicated concealed water connection next to the refrigerator?

Between the refrigerator and the sink (the fixed water connection is under the sink) there is a 60cm (24 inch) dishwasher and a 60cm (24 inch) cabinet

10m (33 feet) is also not a problem. The frequency of use is decisive.

You can also branch off behind the Aquastop, then it will protect everything.
The flow rate is sufficient,
all appliances are using less and less water.

I would choose the tank because if water sits too long in the hose, it can easily breed bacteria. This is especially true in the warm area behind electrical appliances.

I have a side-by-side refrigerator with a water connection, and it works excellently. During the renovation, I specifically had a water line installed. It is set up in a loop to the washing machine in the basement to ensure sufficient water flow. However, I use the side-by-side refrigerator daily, so there are no issues.
I also have a soda maker and use the cold water from the refrigerator for that.
If I remember correctly, a 30cm (12 inches) branch line is officially still allowed. With daily use, the 150cm (59 inches) length is not a problem.
