So, after a few days of delays, things are moving forward again. Next week, I just received the email, is the topping-out ceremony. Iâm supposed to have a bottle of schnapps and a glass ready, organize some soup, the foreman is bringing the ceremonial wreath, and then they want to celebrate a bit with us and our friends. It should be niceâMakita jobsite radio, a few cases of Flens beer, rum and cola mixes for the ladies, and since the structural shell is still clean, thereâs no risk of getting dirty yet. The shell construction phase has its charm. Iâm looking forward to it. Iâll have to tell my wife about it later at six when she arrives. Karsten
Offer whatever you want :-)
Why? Maybe the carpenters know why grain is traditionally part of the topping-out ceremony. At least that's the case here in our area.
At our topping-out ceremony, there will be two bottles. One to break and one to drink on the roof. Otherwise, I donât need that stuff.

PS. By the way, the master carpenter praises the Polish windows. They have a lot of metal in them, very sturdy, he says.Who supplies them?

And â nothing on the label? â Often, these are licensed products from well-known German brands (so itâs not surprising if the foreman finds the quality acceptable).
