Hello everyone,
we finally have the final version of our floor plans. Ready for feedback?
We are building a single-family house with a separate apartment.
The development plan is quite strict, with tight regulations regarding excavation and filling (which is why the access is on the right side via a ramp, since barrier-free access was important to us). The building lines were also firmly defined—for example, the bay window must be built for noise protection reasons.
We already have three children (5, 3, and 1 year old) and are planning an additional room for child number 4 or an au pair.
It was important to us that the separate apartment has its own entrance.
Tips on the floor plans and possible improvements are very welcome, including furniture arrangements.

I’d say the apartment works for two or three people. I think it’s okay. Personally, I would be bothered by the lack of a window in the kitchen. And of course, the limited privacy on the terrace. The landlord—that is, you—can see the tenant apartment’s terrace. That would be a reason for me not to rent it. I would also miss having a storage room and space for a washing machine and dryer.

Voeryschat26 Apr 2026 14:59I still want to plan a niche for the washing machine and dryer in the bathroom; I’m also considering adding a bathtub to the bathroom in the granny flat, and possibly making the bedroom a bit smaller. There is a storage room under the stairs, and we might also be able to allocate part of our basement to the bedroom. What do you think?

Voeryschat26 Apr 2026 15:00Unfortunately, I cannot extend the staircase any further, as this would make the roof terrace on the top floor impossible.
