Dear community,

What are your experiences with foil coatings? Some suppliers offer "Renolit foil" as a coating for the otherwise white uPVC windows during samples selection. They also offer warranties of 5 years or more.

But how durable are these foils? Apparently, there are no windows, for example in anthracite or similar colors, that are fully colored through and do not require foil coating...

However, Gealan does offer such windows, though not in all colors, but in some.
I don’t have any personal experience with either the foil finishes or the acrylcolor windows from Gealan.
I have the standard traffic white windows from Gealan.

Thanks for the tip. It’s just frustrating when you have to stick with the general contractor’s windows :-(

Are Gealan windows much more expensive than the foil-coated ones?

Not fully colored through, but coextruded: from Gealan. Hopefully, you have researched the issues of cracking and shading before potentially exposing large dark-colored windows on the south side (?)

Oh, no... I will catch up on that! I plan to install double-wing, 2 m (6.6 ft) floor-to-ceiling windows facing south :p
