ᐅ Filler panel between dishwasher and wall?

Usually, when finishing next to a dishwasher, a side panel from a tall cabinet or a worktop is used as a support panel at the end.
I would definitely close off the gap up to the wall by about 5cm (2 inches), otherwise it will become an ugly dirt trap that is impossible to clean.

The worktop is only loosely placed on top of the dishwasher and can move slightly, so there might be issues with the fit against the back wall.
Suggestion: fix a wooden batten to the wall so the worktop rests securely without movement, and also attach a vertical strip at the front where the filler piece meets the wall, which is then sealed with silicone.
Please make sure that the dishwasher can still be easily moved in and out with the filler piece in place, in case it needs to be replaced due to age or serviced by a technician.
