Good morning everyone

I need to decide on the ceiling. I really like the look of exposed concrete.

Unfortunately, exposed concrete ceilings are quite expensive, so I am considering installing a precast hollow-core slab instead.

Do you have any ideas on how to enhance the appearance of a precast hollow-core slab ceiling?

Best regards
Wolfgang

Then I'll join in: wallpapering!

Summary:
First apply plaster, then paint or wallpaper.

Otherwise, simply pour the ceiling normally, get a sanding machine and sand it, sand it finer, and then polish. However, this is a very messy job for you or expensive if you hire someone to do it.

The ceiling itself is generally cheaper than a precast slab ceiling.

Thank you for your replies. I want to avoid plastering and painting, and wallpapering is out of the question.....

According to quotes from several shell builders, the cast-in-place concrete ceiling costs considerably more than the precast ceiling.

Any other ideas?

Have a nice evening,
Wolfgang

Yes. How about a stretch ceiling? It looks good. However, it does cost a bit.

You won’t avoid the work unless you pay a tradesperson.

Alternatively, a wooden ceiling, paneling, or something similar could be an option. However, that is not to everyone’s taste.
