ᐅ Feedback on the Ikea Kitchen

Hello everyone,
things are moving forward for us now. After visiting quite a few kitchen outlets in the past, we finally decided on IKEA. Mainly because it’s affordable – secondly, because the kitchen salespeople were almost driving me crazy in the end (a $1000 discount because the sun is shining…). IKEA doesn’t offer any consultation at all… not great either, but still better than that.
We were somewhat fixed on the layout because of the windows… now we are even more set because of the utility connections… The screed is already in place.
The cabinet fronts are Hyttan and Bodbyn – we will buy the appliances separately.
We thought the waste bin should be a pull-out unit under the sink.
A quick note about the tall cabinet row (since it’s not that visible) on the left side of the plan:
60cm (24 inches) cabinet, oven, 60cm (24 inches) cabinet, refrigerator, small freezer.

We would love to hear your opinion. Are there any things we absolutely should change? Since neither of us really has a sense for design, we would appreciate any tips or comments on that as well.
Thanks and best regards

Oh, I thought it simply meant that it’s located somewhere under the countertop, not directly beneath it. But you’re right – whether it’s above or below probably doesn’t matter.

With the "base cabinet with waste system," the main point is that you can easily sweep food scraps, for example from vegetable cutting, directly from the countertop into the compost bin, without having to carry it somewhere else.

I prefer the lighter wood; I’m not so comfortable with the dark brown countertop. I also like your option with the continuous row better than the kitchen island.

Okay, thanks for the feedback. Please confirm one more thing for us – or rather my wife (she doesn’t really like the black-brown either).

For the bins, yes, but not for the people using the trash.. they find the trash on top more comfortable and practical.

It is so practical, just like the elevated dishwasher, there is really nothing more convenient in everyday life. Just this evening alone, I had to load and unload it twice...

I actually think the peninsula solution in your layout is quite good... The workflow seems appropriate. However, I would place the dishwasher opposite the sink in the corner, preferably raised on a pull-out drawer. The base cabinet next to the sink under the countertop can be used for a waste sorting system. You will likely do a lot of prep work here since the refrigerator is right next to it.
