Hello everyone,

I would like to get your feedback on our offer for the heat pump and also your thoughts on groundwater heat pumps in general.

We are currently planning to use groundwater as the heat source and have received the following offer. It includes the complete installation of the underfloor heating, connection of the heat pump, etc. Only the drilling for the two wells would be an additional cost.

Water-water heat pump Ochsner GMWW 11 plus
Ochsner buffer tank PU800
Ochsner domestic hot water module
230 sqm (2,475 sq ft) underfloor heating including insulation
Various small components such as room thermostats, etc.

The total price is €30,100 gross.

What do you think? Is this a good offer? Is a groundwater heat pump a sensible choice?

I’m curious to see if we will have similarly good results... Our house is 163 sqm (1754 sq ft) plus a basement. I’ve planned the pre-run temperature at 30°C (86°F) and the room temperature at 21°C (70°F).
What temperature and system do you use for domestic hot water?

Simple 190-liter (50-gallon) storage tank with a 3m² (32ft²) heat exchanger. Currently, heating to 43°C (109°F) once a day is sufficient. Approximately 3.5 kWh of heat is needed daily for domestic hot water. The power is significantly reduced during hot water production (silent mode) because it is more efficient that way. Good luck.

Ok, wow. What kind of shower habits do you have? 190 liters at 43°C (109°F) definitely wouldn’t be enough here with a rain shower.

I also find it really low in terms of quantity and temperature...

I shower using a standard showerhead, while my wife prefers the rain shower. However, I don’t think the rain shower has an extremely high water flow rate; I’m not sure about the exact values. Taking a third shower would also be possible. If we want to take a bath, you just have to press the button on the heat pump’s control panel.

In any case, I’m glad we chose the smaller storage tank. When the child is older, we can simply heat twice as much or use a higher temperature.
