Hello everyone,

After a long search, I found a solar installer through a contact who was able to take the time to provide me with a quote for a photovoltaic system including a storage unit and a wallbox, while all others I contacted either didn’t respond or only sent automated replies.

The following components were offered:

30 Q-Cell Q.PEAK DUO G11 monocrystalline 400W modules including roof mounting brackets, Kostal Plenticore Plus 10.0 inverter, installation, and surge protection for 14,640€ (net).

BYD storage system HVS 10.2 BCU + 4 battery modules with usable capacity of 12.24 kWh for 7,300€ (net).

Electrician costs 800€ (net).

Scaffolding costs 900€ (net).

Kostal Enector wallbox 950€ (net).

Electrician costs for wallbox 500€ (net).

Total net cost: 25,090€.

Considering that in 2023 only the net amount must be paid and I can also receive a grant from the city of 2,850€, this sounds pretty reasonable.

I actually expected it to be more expensive. Of course, it's only 12 kWp, but it still seems quite fair to me.

Or do you see it differently? I’m not deeply familiar with the topic yet to properly evaluate it myself.

The delivery time is sometime at the end of 2023, although I can imagine that some others scheduled before me might cancel for financial reasons, which could mean an earlier installation for me.

By the way: our annual electricity consumption is about 9,000 kWh, of which approximately 6,000 kWh is used by an 8 kW heat pump.

I’ve heard a lot of differing opinions about battery storage, but I still consider it useful, even if it might not be fully economical.

Thank you very much for your feedback.

We are looking at 9.84 kWp with a 7.7 kWh BYD battery and additional work up to handover at around 21.3k net. This is as of November 2022, with installation planned for Q1 2023. I have also seen an offer for a similar system at just under 30k net.
You even have a wallbox included in your offer.

Your offer seems good to me, given the circumstances. A battery makes more and more sense with electricity prices at 50 cents and above.

The offer for the photovoltaic system looks fine.
The storage battery seems expensive to me.
Do you need one that large? We manage quite well with our 5 kWh (5 kilowatt-hour) unit.
