At some point, the budget was simply exhausted. However, I still find it very attractive when, for example, the lower part is clad in bricks and the upper part is rendered. Our house was built using Poroton bricks (Eder XP 9). Afterwards, a base render, reinforcement, and a colored render were applied.
Would it be possible now, for example, to stick facing bricks or brick slips—preferably in gray—up to the floor-to-ceiling windows on the upper floor?
What should be considered in this case?
Is a trim profile required, or is silicone or a similar material simply applied between the facing bricks and the render to prevent water infiltration?
How does this work at the base or the transition between the render and the base?
The render projects about 1 cm (0.4 inches) at the base; a colored stone render was applied there. At the back of the house, I would arrange the pergola like an inverted “U” because the posts are only about 1 cm (0.4 inches) away from the render, so I cannot get behind them anymore.
Is this plan feasible or just a daydream?

But I still find it beautiful, for example, when the lower part is clad with brick and the upper part is plastered. I’ll tag @Golfi90 for you, as far as I remember, that’s how theirs is, although not done as a retrofit.
