ᐅ Facade paint color for a house with windows in RAL 7016 (Anthracite Gray)?

The contractor gave us a color chart from Maxit. Unfortunately, based on these small color samples, we cannot really imagine what would suit our house with RAL 7016 windows. We quite like Cappuccino. Does anyone have any advice?

Well, not stupid, rather unusual. It’s like choosing a car color based on the rims.
You can do that, but since 90% of people choose differently, you can accept that without taking offense. Almost as unusual as a forum member’s statement that it makes no sense to consider whether the facade color matches the window frames when choosing the facade color.
Regarding the car: Often, there is ONE particular rim in the manufacturer’s wheel options that I like. If that rim happens to be black, I won’t choose a black paint color to match. Hard for you to understand, I know.
No, nobody said that. It’s completely normal to generally think about these things.
But I’m happy to repeat myself: 90% of people facing such a decision follow the opposite order or don’t start considering these aspects until after the windows are installed or the rims are already bought.
And it’s fine that you handle it this way, but getting upset because others find it surprising is, frankly, quite odd.
By the way, I strongly disagree with the car example. Black rims look great on a black car... but for me, that would be too much maintenance.
You already have my recommendation for the facade color. Maybe try drinking some chamomile tea from a colorful cup.

Costruttrice4 May 2023 22:46In our new development area, several houses have windows and façades in RAL 7016, a lighter brown shade, and the style is modern and minimalist. I am not familiar with the color you mentioned, so I don’t know how brown or dark it is, but based on the brown houses I know, I could imagine it fitting well. It’s definitely a nice alternative to white.
Since there are often comments about RAL 7016 windows and that they become outdated after 15 years: Our first house, built 16 years ago, already had windows in RAL 7016. At that time, some people looked at us strangely, wondering why we chose such unattractive windows. People would stop and ask how we could pick such ugly windows. Then more and more houses in the neighborhood started using dark windows, and now, 16 years later, they are still considered modern.

By the way, I would be surprised if the window manufacturer or the facade paint manufacturer could match the color chart shade 100% accurately.
Therefore, it’s better to avoid experiments and work with strong contrasts instead. KarstenausNRW schrieb:
You don’t first build a house with some supposedly great (standard, everyone has that) color and only then start thinking about the facade color once the house is finished. Schorsch_baut schrieb:
And now the original poster is faced with choosing between 50 shades of white, greige, beige. This thread is just yet another version of a FAQ 🙂 and I have repeatedly shared my mantras, which are:
1. RAL doesn’t standardize the success of matching a certain color like Pantone does, but only the attempt, and this varies greatly depending on the different substrates; and
2. Seventysixteen is the new run-of-the-mill ;-)

Unfortunately, the "Marone" color from Maxit, which I had hoped would match my desired look, turned out to be more apricot-like. I will contact Maxit directly now; maybe they can help me.

Schorsch_baut5 May 2023 08:55I don’t understand why I should choose the window color based on the facade color. The facade color can be changed every few years on a plastered or wooden house. Vinyl windows, however, remain for 20 years or more.
