Hello everyone, I need your help and hope you can really assist me.
We have an outdoor faucet on the house. Yesterday, I wanted to install a new hose connector. When removing the old hose connector, a component came out attached to the faucet. See the picture. What is this part called? I screwed it back in and attached the new hose connector to it. Unfortunately, the faucet is now leaking. Water is coming out on the sides, as shown by the blue arrows in the picture. How can I make it watertight again? It cannot be screwed in any further, as you can see in the picture. Is the problem with this part, or is there simply a missing seal or gasket?

Regards

Sealing threads with hemp fiber and Neo Fermit.

The part is a threaded adapter. It looks quite damaged from the use of crude tools; I would replace it either exactly as is or with a Gardena connector. Seal it as described above.

Someone really worked well with the combination pliers here.
I would replace the entire valve; I find models with a lever handle very impractical for daily use. I would recommend a model with a ball valve.
