Peter10Hello everyone,
I need your help.
We purchased a semi-detached house from a municipal housing association in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) four years ago. After four years, we noticed that the white exterior plaster facade on the weather-exposed side has lost its paint in several places.
After much back and forth, the company has now decided to repaint the weather-exposed side free of charge, starting with a new base coat followed by a top coat.
The company informed me that this offer is made as a goodwill gesture—without acknowledging any legal obligation—even though we are still within the five-year warranty period.
Now, of course, we have the problem that the other two exterior sides have the "old" paint after four years, which of course does not look good.
Do we have any way to require the company to paint all sides?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Good luck,
Peter

We bought a semi-detached house new from a municipal housing association 4 years ago (North Rhine-Westphalia).
After 4 years, we noticed that the white exterior render on several spots of the weather-facing side has lost its paint.
After a long back-and-forth, the company has now decided to renew the weather-facing side free of charge with a new primer coat followed by a finish coat.
The company tells me that the offer is made as a gesture of goodwill—without acknowledging any legal obligation—even though we are still within the 5-year period.
Now we obviously have the problem that the other two exterior sides still have the "old" paint after 4 years, which obviously does not look good.

Good luck,
Peter Yes, you do have the option. Simply request a quote and place an order.
