We are planning to install a floating floor system for impact sound insulation in the 1st and 2nd floors of a new build (mid-terrace house).

The developer is skipping the installation of a screed layer on the concrete slab in the upper floors. Allegedly, otherwise the required room height of 2.50 meters (8 feet 2 inches) could not be maintained.

Given this situation, we are looking for a material that is suitable for impact sound insulation, affordable, easy to install, and preferably has a low build-up height.

We came across the material Thermodyn, which is said to have these properties. Unfortunately, there is very little information available online about Thermodyn, and we are reluctant to be guinea pigs.

Now we are hoping for experiences from forum members. We also welcome other recommendations for impact sound insulation on concrete floors. The final floor covering will be laminate.

Thanks in advance.
