Joda1987Hello everyone,
I am considering retrofitting the NUKI system (3pro). What are your experiences with it? Does the battery really last over 5 months? Is integration into existing systems possible?
I am thinking of installing it discreetly on the front door. But the outside basement door would also be worth considering.

I am using it on two side doors. It works well, both with the keypad and with the phone/watch.
The battery lasts 4-6 months (depending on usage). Then you just remove it for one day to recharge, and it works again.
The volume can be a bit annoying at times. Otherwise, I would recommend this device!

We have the Nuki installed on two doors: the front door and the back door. I can’t say how long the battery lasts because we have a cable running from the Nuki to the power outlet—when it starts blinking (I never quite remember the exact blinking pattern when it’s low), it simply gets charged. So far, that has only happened twice in about a year.
For me, there are several reasons to have this device:
The door opening automatically is kind of charming. I always enjoy it when it works (there are occasional glitches, which is annoying), like a friendly person opening the door for me.
I really like being able to leave the house without a key. (We set up an emergency key that has never been needed.)
I often leave the back door open by accident and can check from the sofa in the evening whether it’s closed and, if needed, lock it remotely... much more convenient than running downstairs for nothing.
There are some weaknesses (see the “glitches” mentioned above—or when visiting a neighbor who isn’t close enough to trigger the automatic unlocking function. In those cases, I have to get my phone out :rolleyes 🙂, but overall it works well enough that I’m very happy to have it.

I recently read about Apple trackers that are supposedly able to locate with an accuracy of just a few centimeters (involving Apple's "Find My" system, without the users being aware or noticing).
The most frustrating flaw for me with the Nuki system is that it doesn’t precisely know my location. That’s why the door unlocks when I’m just walking past the house—on the street—or why it doesn’t automatically open if I wasn’t far enough away.
The Apple chip would help with this, but it—or something similar—doesn’t seem to be planned...
