Hello everyone,

has anyone here had experience with surface-finished concrete, also known as power-troweled concrete?

Some time ago, I saw a segment on the show "einfach genial" where this topic was briefly mentioned.

One advantage mentioned was the elimination of a screed layer and drying phase since the concrete sets much faster.

I am not referring to polished design concrete floors or similar finishes.

Yes, quite a few times. What exactly would you like to know, or where do you plan to use it?

As a layperson, I wonder if this concrete can be applied instead of a screed, directly together with the installation of underfloor heating?

As mentioned, the program promoted that this method can save the long drying time typical of screed and also reduce the risk of later defects caused by damp spots.

It was interesting and relevant that the note pointed out this approach is already standard practice in many countries, especially in Nordic countries.

Although this is an old post, maybe someone will be looking for this again... I have a climate-controlled slab foundation, which I must say is really great. I would definitely do it again.
