Hello everyone,

We are deciding between Röben Flandern Plus and Röben Bergamo, both of which are flat smooth roof tiles.

Are there any positive or negative experiences with smooth roof tiles in this forum?

We like the appearance, but we are wondering if they weather faster, get dirty more easily, or have any other significant drawbacks. The product data sheets don’t provide much practical information.

Thank you very much for your feedback!

We have these types of bricks and I don’t see any problems. They have only been installed since summer 2020, and we just moved in January. Additionally, the south side, which is the garden side, is more or less completely covered with photovoltaic panels, so the roof is hardly visible.

Therefore, only time will tell...

In your OWN house, it rarely causes any issues 🙄
It’s usually the neighbors who suffer.

This mirror appears on all glossy surfaces, not just on the flat ones.

I was mostly referring to the other statements. Regarding reflection, I can only speak for ours. Nothing reflects. Well, except the photovoltaic panels 😉

Flat tiles do indeed need to be installed more precisely. On roofs with dirt or debris, the difference between profiled and flat tiles is negligible; the material has a greater impact. Röben produces durable tiles, while the Braas Tegalit is made of a more vulnerable concrete. We use Creaton Domino/Autarq matt engobed tiles, as well as photovoltaic laminate tiles, and are very satisfied. However, our house was built in 2019, so there is not much wear visible yet.

I didn’t want to complain to anyone here, just mention it. When looking at sample roof tiles that are matte under cloudy skies, you wouldn’t expect them to glare in the sun.
I didn’t know that before either. I think that’s unfortunate on the part of the manufacturers 😉
