Our construction has just begun, and we have already purchased the kitchen. The reason is that I was able to inform the main contractor of the exact dimensions I require, instead of them roughly planning the kitchen dimensions. This way, we avoided unnecessary centimeters. We will have a boxed-in kitchen wall, so the measurements are important to ensure the cabinets can be opened properly later.

Just be careful that you won’t be restricted later because connections (e.g., water) are planned in a fixed location and cannot be moved. That would be unfortunate if it prevents a more optimal layout.

If it is a prefabricated house, the island should be advantageous because its connections are installed on the floor, and the floor is also only laid after the prefabricated house is assembled. So there is still time for that. 😎

I admit, the kitchen was complex. That’s why we started planning it a full year before completion and closed it off early.
Thinking about the chaos at the final stages of finishing the house… planning the kitchen then? No way.
In hindsight, I’m very glad we were able to provide the electrician with the kitchen studio’s plans so he could calmly do the wiring.

I have now received an initial quote from Küchenhelden.
The first consultation was quite pleasant, but they are quite persistent when following up. Phone call... if you don’t answer, they immediately send a text message and then an email as well. I don’t like to be pressured like that.

Our planned kitchen is a Häcker Systemat with about 8 meters (26 feet) of cabinetry (including a 1.8m (6 feet) tall unit, no wall cabinets). Natural stone countertop Nero Assoluto.
Bora Pure cooktop, Miele full-size refrigerator, Miele dishwasher, and Miele pyrolytic oven. 80cm (31.5 inches) Silgranit sink and black faucet.
Breakdown: 8,500 for cabinetry, 7,200 for appliances, 2,700 for countertop, 3,700 for installation (all net) --> 23,700 gross

For comparison, the local kitchen studio (slightly different layout, cabinet length about 7.6m (25 feet)):
Xeno (Nobilia) with Maxicorpus, same stone, same handle design
Miele 80cm (31.5 inches) cooktop, Berbel matte black hood, Miele full-size refrigerator (display model), Miele dishwasher (display model), and Miele pyrolytic oven (display model). 80cm (31.5 inches) Silgranit sink and black faucet. --> 19,500 gross

We will choose the local studio.
