Hello,

We are planning to build a house and will start soon.
Now we have one question: our heating installer wants to install a gas boiler and ventilation system from Junkers.
So the general question is, who has experience with Junkers devices? Are they good or bad? Or would it be better to choose another manufacturer? For example, Wolf? Wolf seems to be reasonably priced.

Best regards

No one can reliably answer that. Which devices or manufacturers are actually suitable depends on the results of the initial assessment.

But you should be able to make a general statement about the overall quality and personal experience with a manufacturer, right? Or will I always be assigned a manufacturer based solely on the initial assessment? I would also be interested in this combination...

You can, but what use is it? No construction project is the same in terms of all parameters, even if the building itself is identical.
What works well for A may barely work for B and could turn into a money pit for C!

No, on the contrary, it is manufacturer-independent. Only after its results are suitable and sensible manufacturers/devices selected.

And when I have several manufacturers to choose from, there will surely be some who say: This one performs well, that one is prone to faults, test reports say this, and so on... How can I independently find information about the manufacturer – I’m not referring to the sizing, planning, etc. – but about the manufacturer itself?

A heat generator never operates independently; it is always integrated into the entire system as well as the building-specific and user-related boundary conditions. As already mentioned, it is a holistic construct. No layperson is able to adequately describe or reliably define this. Even the best high-tech heat generator is useless if the rest is substandard! At best, owners of similar devices can exchange information about user-friendliness, the capabilities of the implemented control system, and service — but no more than that! Unfortunately, especially in new build/extensive refurbishment/retrofit projects, comprehensive system planning and sizing is a complete unknown, much to the detriment of the future operators. In some cases, twice as much energy is consumed as would actually be necessary.

Best regards

P.S.: Sorry, building expert, but these are simply my long-standing professional experiences. If everything is better with the construction services you describe, feel free to provide me with the complete system sizing of a realized construction project from a forum user. I would be happy to take a look!
