Hello everyone,
I’m currently thinking about getting a new kitchen and have come across IKEA kitchens. The price-performance ratio seems pretty good, and I like the design. However, I’ve heard mixed opinions from friends – some are very satisfied, while others have had issues with certain cabinet parts or the assembly process.
So I wanted to ask here: What experiences have you had with IKEA kitchens?
I’d love to hear about your experiences, both positive and negative – especially if you’ve been using it for a few years! Thanks in advance 🙂
Best regards,
Sandra

So I wanted to ask here: What experiences have you had with IKEA kitchens?
- How satisfied are you with the quality of the furniture (e.g., cabinets, countertops, drawers, appliances)?
- Did you assemble the kitchen yourself or have it assembled? Was it complicated?
- How well does the planning service in-store and online work?
- What about customer service when parts are missing or something breaks?
- Is there anything you would do differently in hindsight?
I’d love to hear about your experiences, both positive and negative – especially if you’ve been using it for a few years! Thanks in advance 🙂
Best regards,
Sandra

Yes, in my opinion, Bauknecht is responsible for electrical appliances like refrigerators and freezers, and Electrolux (AEG etc.) for stoves and ovens, but they also change brands occasionally.Yeah, that's right – Whirlpool is included too – I didn't want any of the brands mentioned from IKEA or in their original versions...Oh, by the way, Bauknecht is basically Whirlpool. I can’t say anything about Whirlpool. But Electrolux can manufacture very high-quality appliances. They are definitely on par with BSH. However, the price range also goes quite low (which is the case with BSH as well).
The higher-end dishwashers are often from BSH too… My dishwasher is from Bosch.

I explained this here.
It’s the VOXTORP, made up of two 40cm (16 inches) high panels that have to be held together from the back with two hinges. Much too heavy for a drawer.
Are you sure that’s for the cabinet with the waste bin? In that case, you have to mount the handle on the lower of the two panels, so no readjustment will be necessary.

I know from fully integrated appliances that they need a certain opening angle to work with the toe kick without modifications (Ikea, for example, has very low toe kicks and therefore larger areas for drawers, etc.). Otherwise, depending on the device, there are actually sliding hinges or similar available separately from Ikea. The keyword is "XXL dishwasher with vario hinge."
This is available, for example, from BSH as well as most other manufacturers. The front panel needs to shift slightly when opening to avoid colliding with the toe kick.

Are you sure this is for the trash bin cabinet? In that case, you need to install the handle on the lower of the two panels, so no further adjustments are necessary. It doesn’t have a handle, but a recessed grip. And everything else was done exactly according to the instructions. A handle at knee height doesn’t make much sense, as you mentioned.W

When it comes to major kitchen appliances, expectations matter. If you want an oven with fairly stable temperature control that doesn’t fluctuate by 10 degrees, or an induction cooktop that doesn’t pulse at low power and is built with sound technical quality (not necessarily a wide range of functions), you are only likely to find this by chance with IKEA appliances. Those who say they haven’t noticed this to date and never missed it will find reliable “white goods” at IKEA.
