Hello,

does anyone here have an electric fireplace at home and can share their experience? Which brand or product do you use?

Do you have one with water vapor? If yes, does it have a water tank or is it connected to the water supply? How is the issue of limescale in this regard?

Thank you, I look forward to your feedback!

Electric and fireplace go together about as well as sawdust and ice cream. So, of course, none at home. Experience only from hotel stays. You can also put up a TV with a fireplace video. At least then you still have the crackling of wood and flames.
If anything, then ethanol, to have at least real fire.

I personally prefer an open fireplace and would actually choose a flame effect and sound on a screen over an electric fireplace, as I could also use the screen for other purposes.

I don’t have an electric fireplace at home. Whether it’s the right choice for you depends on your goals. If you simply like the look, pick one and use it as a decorative element. The illumination of the water vapor creates a certain dynamic effect, but in my experience, it doesn’t add to a more realistic flame appearance. What bothers me about models with heating function is that the heat produced is not comparable to the radiant heat of a real fire. Also, the efficiency in modern houses with central heating systems is at least questionable. Friends of ours love their electric fireplace and have been using it trouble-free for several years.

First of all, thank you for your feedback and experiences (maybe some more users can share their insights).

The reason for my question is that I currently have a tiled stove that we don’t use, purely for convenience. The electric fireplace would be purely for aesthetic purposes; heating performance is not the main focus. However, a purely digital flame effect alone would be too little for me.
