MODERATOR20 Nov 2012 23:12Calcium silicate boards are well suited for interior insulation because they are moisture-adaptive, meaning they can absorb and release moisture (e.g., condensation from the wall) without being damaged.
However, it is essential to check the manufacturer’s website for information on how to properly install the boards.

Karl-Steffen-17 Oct 2014 17:14I have not had any negative experiences with the calcium silicate boards either. Due to their high pH value, mold growth is not possible. We used them to insulate an old half-timbered house, as external insulation was not an option in this case.

Urs1988-14 Jan 2015 15:41Hello,
I find these panels great, especially for preventing mold. If mold appears, cover all surfaces with these panels. Otherwise, mold will show up at the seams. Of course, the cause of the mold must be addressed first; otherwise, this won’t help much.
They’re not very expensive, and I got these panels at 25 mm (1 inch) thickness for about 20 CHF.
Best regards
