Hello 🙄,

I am planning to have a detached single-family house (passive house) built turnkey this year. There are so many providers online that it’s overwhelming. Who has had positive experiences and with which companies? What are the typical costs for a passive single-family house? I have a building plot of 298 sqm (3205 sq ft), although it is partly on a slope.

What do you understand by a passive house? A "true" passive house has a heating demand of less than 15 kWh/(m²a) and a primary energy demand, including hot water and household electricity, of under 120 kWh/(m²a). The costs of a passive house are therefore not insignificant!

Hello Carlie, we also want to build and are still in the information and planning phase. No contracts have been signed yet, and I believe it’s important to take plenty of time before making a decision. We will most likely build a solid (masonry) house and have found some ideas and suggestions online.
However, we have not requested any concrete quotes yet.

I have a solid wood house with a 25 cm (10 inch) exterior wall and 10 cm (4 inch) wood fiber insulation, resulting in a U-value of 0.17, which is close to passive house standard. The turnkey construction cost me 1900 € per square meter (10.5 sq ft) of living space. This was the best system I found, and also the most affordable.
