I am from Switzerland and have just started my second year of apprenticeship.
I am struggling with exposed brickwork and just canât seem to get faster. I would appreciate any tips from you on how to build walls more quickly and accurately.
I have a lot of trouble with the corners of the brickwork and sometimes with alignment (I use a corner string line). Corner: I hold the spirit level straight on the first two courses, and it is plumb. Then, when laying the next courses and adjusting the front and side corner faces by moving the bricks, it always becomes crooked, and I donât understand why. I have another course in a few weeks, and I really want to achieve a good grade. Please help me.

Here, itâs just know-it-alls and academics. Donât trust any bricklayers. Are we just going to jump out of the frying pan into the fire for the original poster?
In the green forum, you might find more bricklayers â but also more know-it-alls that you have to be able to tolerate first.
