Hello everyone,

Does anyone have experience with wood-look tiles?

My father is a tiler and said he once installed Villeroy & Boch tiles with a tile leveling system and never again. Due to the format, there were often protruding corners and edges.

We recently had tiles installed from Marazzi with grout lines less than 2mm (0.08 inches), flawless.

However, it took us a long time to find something that we liked visually. Internet photos are completely useless for this. We found many that we immediately ruled out in person. The only way is to see them live, and on the floor! Many are displayed in wall shelves, which is also very misleading.

I have never really seen wood-look tiles that look truly attractive. They always seem like "it’s for the tenants, looks okay." I also have wood in the kitchen and bathroom. It works great.

We like ours now, but after all, they are ours. Maybe as inspiration: Treverktrend Rovere Naturale. But as I said, see it in person on the floor, pictures are not very conclusive.

That is exactly why installation costs are higher compared to 45cm x 45cm (18 inches x 18 inches) tiles.

Our younger son wanted wood-look tiles in his bathroom. No problem. I’m usually not a fan of imitation, but it really looks quite good.
