ᐅ Experience with soundproof ceilings?

Our house construction company offered to install double-layer soundproof ceilings in the three living rooms on the upper floor to reduce noise coming through the roof. They would charge 1,500 EUR for this.

I would like to know if anyone has any experience with this. Is the additional cost really worth it? I wasn’t able to find any useful information when searching online.

1500 doesn’t sound like much – maybe (just a guess!) it’s a low figure to make it more appealing to the builder? Why not just 2,500 or 3,000 then, that’s not too much either...
