I have seen apartments on Immobilienscout (partly depending on the photo) where the baseboards appear quite subtle, or where there is no prominent top edge.
It looks like flexible baseboards that can even be bent around corners. Do you have any experience with these? Are they any good, or do they discolor after some time?
There is also something similar from Döllken (baseboard SK).
