Hello,
Here is our current situation:
Our plan:
Does anyone have experience or tips regarding the efficiency of our heating concept? Possibly recommendations for specialized companies for floor milling or other installation services? I assume the existing slab’s insulation can’t really be compared to modern floor slabs, right? Even if we have some heat loss, that would be acceptable since electricity from photovoltaic panels and wood fuel is essentially free.
Thanks for your insights and advice.
Here is our current situation:
- Older bungalow built in 1984
- Existing heating system: old electric baseboard heaters
- 110 m² (1,184 sq ft) size
- Insulation typical for the building’s age
Our plan:
- Retrofit underfloor heating (installation height as low as possible, ideally below 25 mm (1 inch))
- Add an air-to-water heat pump powered by our own photovoltaic system
- Install a hydronic fireplace stove (using wood from our own forest)
- Replace windows and doors
