Hello everyone,

Who of you has experience buying shrubs, plants, or young trees in the Netherlands?
Supposedly, the prices are significantly cheaper there compared to Germany.

I would appreciate your opinions.

Best regards,
Micha

When comparing multiple online shops, you can sometimes find savings of up to 30%.

Baumschule Horstmann offers good quality (they also have grasses and similar plants).
Staudengärtnerei Gaißmayer
Rosenhof Schultheis for roses
Norma sometimes has quite good plants for a low price.

I can also imagine that nurseries and garden centers sell plants cheaper once the season (spring planting) is over. I’m not sure about their opening hours where you are. Here, everything has been closed, so many still have stock left.

Thank you for the hint.
Once I know what I need, I will start the comparison.

Some offer tiered pricing.
In such cases, it can be beneficial to buy 5 of the same plant instead of 5 similar but different ones.

I have already ordered from Horstmann, good quality, everything has taken root. I also like Native-plants, and so far everything has established well there too. As for their prices, I have no idea; price is not my main criterion when it comes to plants. I try to use mostly native species anyway. Preferably regional, so the plants are accustomed to the local climate, and ideally organic, meaning grown without chemicals.

I also find it very interesting. Nowadays, you can order and have everything delivered online.
