Andreas Koch17 Mar 2019 12:49Hello everyone,
We are a young start-up team in the construction sector. Our goal is to make the experience of the dream of owning a home possible even before the first stone is laid. To do this, we use virtual reality technology – those somewhat bulky headsets ;-) – and develop fully immersive VR models from 3D designs. This means you can freely move through the rooms, pick up and move furniture, switch lights on and off, and get a good sense of the spatial dimensions.
The good news: we are not trying to sell anything at this stage; instead, we are looking for homebuilders for whom we can create a free demo version. Why are we doing this? Before fully launching our start-up, we want feedback from our target audience, and you can help us with that! Our office is based in Mannheim, so it would be great if you are located in the southwest of Germany, but feel free to contact us even if you live further away.
To give you a first impression, we have prepared a short video for you. It shows what a sample demo model looks like. Feel free to click here.
Please feel free to write to us – then we can discuss further details about the process.

We also look forward to your feedback directly here in the forum thread. So far, our test users have been very enthusiastic, but we are keen to hear what you, as homebuilders, think about it.
Best regards
Andreas & Jan

It’s a nice idea and could help some homeowners.
The question is how much they are willing to invest and whether you can offer it at that price.
We wouldn’t have used it. However, we can read 2D drawings and have a good spatial imagination.
Do you use the customers’ existing or desired furniture, or do you only include placeholders?

Andreas Koch17 Mar 2019 13:40Thank you for the positive feedback!
Yes, willingness to pay is definitely a good question. We can quickly transfer the models into VR, which allows us to offer an affordable price. At the moment, we cannot calculate this exactly, but we estimate that we can stay within the three-digit range, which would then be a very small percentage of the total construction costs and certainly provide great added value for many. However, we deliberately want to start with demo models for free, or pay what you want.
Regarding the furniture: these are real furniture and fixtures! If requested, we can also include the furniture desired by the client. We are also aiming for partnerships with furniture manufacturers and similar. If we have 3D models of the items, we can easily integrate them.

Steffen8017 Mar 2019 14:13Which VR system? Hopefully not the gaming ones like Vive or Oculus? The resolution is far too low, and the screen door effect wouldn’t be worth even one euro to me!
The Pimax 8K is heading in the right direction. Let’s see when it will be available for purchase.
