We have now thought that if the price can be lowered a bit or negotiated, we could extend the house by adding one room, and build a basement space underneath this new extension since the house does not have a basement.
What do you think? Would this be feasible, or is it likely uneconomical because the costs for such a project would be enormous?
Good luck

Do you know which company the house is from? If so, is it still in business? Our provider offers the possibility to add extensions. They seem to regularly upgrade their older buildings. The company has been around for 60 years.
If you know the provider, they are probably the best source to tell you if this is feasible, in terms of structural engineering, and what the costs might be. It definitely won’t be cheap.
