Hello everyone,

My parents’ house (both 63 years old) is going to be upgraded to be smarter. Unfortunately, they renovated the house just 3 years ago and did not consider any preparations for smart home systems at that time.

They only became interested since they received an Echo Plus with 2 Philips Hue bulbs.

Here is the current situation:

- Detached house, 160 sqm (1,722 sq ft)
- Underfloor heating in all rooms
- Electric roller shutters in all rooms
- Amazon Echo Plus and 2 Philips E27 bulbs available

Goal:

- Control underfloor heating intelligently via app and wall thermostat (voice control via Alexa is not a must, as I don’t think underfloor heating is suitable for quickly changing the temperature by voice)
- Control lighting in living/dining room, ground floor hallway, 3 bedrooms, and first floor hallway via Alexa voice commands
- Control roller shutters on the ground floor via app and preferably program presets (e.g., vacation mode)

It can be said that no additional components should be added beyond this.

As inexpensive as possible, but as expensive as necessary.

Thank you in advance

Best regards
K

Homematic IP is also good; you can control everything with the app.

Thank you. I have now looked at the different devices and find the Nest wall thermostat very appealing. I will now take a closer look at it.
