Hello,
We bought a house from the 1970s and are currently doing a complete renovation.
We have fully opened up the ceiling in the attic.
The now visible gable we want to close up along the two beams with drywall (see pictures).
What should go between the tiles and the drywall? We have 60mm (2.4 inches) insulation on the outside, which we plan to increase by another 100mm (4 inches) in two years.

A friend suggested that I could reinforce the gable wall (between the first and second row of tiles) with a 100mm (4 inches) beam.

Does that make sense, or what would you recommend putting in between?

Thank you very much for your answers.

Does anyone have any advice? I see four options here:

1. Leave everything as it is and simply cover with drywall.
2. Rebuild the second row of bricks.
3. Insulate the space between the bricks and drywall from the inside, although there is already external insulation.
4. Reinforce the gable wall with a 100mm (4 inch) beam.
