We are currently looking for a kitchen for our new build, which is scheduled to start in 2021. Nothing extravagant. Our first two visits to kitchen showrooms resulted in prices of at least 15,000 euros (around $16,000 USD), plus the side-by-side refrigerator that we plan to buy ourselves.
We are a bit surprised that for just a few pieces of furniture and three appliances (dishwasher, cooktop with fan, oven) we have to pay at least 15,000 euros. The consultants actually expected around 20,000 euros. The countertop is not even ceramic but rather granite.
Are there other options to purchase an affordable kitchen?
Please don’t get me wrong. We could afford such a kitchen. We just don’t see why we should spend 20,000 euros on a few furniture pieces and appliances.

Cassette fronts are also not standard, with costs depending on the manufacturer ranging from 1000 to 3000€ (approximately $1100 to $3300) extra...

We will pay 10k, but for example, a granite countertop would have cost an additional 2k.
We don’t have an integrated extractor hood or a kitchen island. We only have one tall cabinet.
Our appliances are inexpensive, and we will be taking our dishwasher with us.
I think our kitchen looks nice in the pictures too, but we have a closed kitchen, and the kitchen definitely doesn’t need to serve as a visual enhancement for the living room; it only needs to fulfill its function.

So everything like at Ikea. LOLYes, but try fitting a niche of 2.443444 meters (8 feet) at Ikea, or building an island measuring 110 x 180 cm (43 x 71 inches), or a raised dishwasher...
It's all possible, but it takes brains, patience, craftsmanship, and money—and some things just don’t work at all...

Funny. Try sitting in a 15-year-old model from each brand. That puts your quality claim into perspective. Don’t be fooled by panel gaps and feel.I had a 16-year-old Audi, and everything was perfect. The Mercedes cars of family and friends were already rusty after 5 years. But subjective experiences don’t help much with this; that’s what quality reports are for...Andre77 schrieb:
I’m always amazed at how much some people spend on their kitchens. Even if I had the money for such an expensive kitchen, I would never spend it on that. Eventually, you don’t like something anymore and start to change or even replace parts ... bam ... a lot of money gone...
Here I have a Burger U-shaped kitchen with a LeMans unit at the back left, and the other section is in the utility room.
It cost roughly 5,000 euros (about $5,400) plus 800 euros (around $860) for installation, but without appliances. The appliances are a Bosch oven and Bosch dishwasher, and a 4-door side-by-side refrigerator from Hisense.
And I find it very stylish.....I think that’s very reasonable. We paid 6,000 euros (around $6,500) for a Burger kitchen in our rental apartment, even though we checked with three different cheaper suppliers... with a Bosch dishwasher, no-name extractor hood, no-name ceramic cooktop, and an Indesit oven. We bought a Siemens refrigerator separately... and there was no LeMans or any extra features... it was an L-shaped kitchen, and even smaller than yours... maybe it’s a more expensive area here?!Similar topics
