All the home office professionals and people with back issues (like me) are surely familiar with the essential qualities of a good office chair.
It should definitely swivel, possibly with casters, and be very comfortable—no high-back chairs.
Of course, appearance is also important, but in this area, function—that is, ergonomic features and quality—comes first.
We will check out the usual suspects tomorrow in a specialty store, but maybe there is some helpful knowledge here.
The chair will be used several hours daily, so quality is essential.
It is for my wife; I would probably have looked at a "Stressless" chair first... I’m curious to hear your ideas and experiences.

What is the budget? 200, 500, 1000 €?

The most important advice here is that you need to try it out in the store. A chair that I really like might be completely unsuitable for you.

Otherwise, I can recommend the brand Vitra (Headline, ID Trim); we have them at home and in the office.

As much as necessary.
I don't have a fixed budget for this.
Optimal comfort and quality are the deciding factors.

The Eames EA 117 by Vitra is top quality – priced at a premium, but built to last a lifetime.

Thank you. Trying it out is clear. This way, I can already look for suitable stores in advance.
