Hello everyone,

Since the house building project turned into buying an apartment, I am now planning the layout of the roof terrace.
It is located on the 7th floor, 6 x 5 meters (20 x 16 feet) and completely open on the roof.

On the one hand, I want to add greenery to the terrace, but on the other hand, I want to have some flexible protection from wind and sun.
However, this should not mean constantly setting up and taking down things.

Of course, it is important that nothing can be blown away, as that would be life-threatening.

The terrace has a continuous railing about 50 cm (20 inches) high, to which items can possibly be fixed.

I look forward to all your ideas.
Attached are 2 pictures; the “furnishing” is just for visualization.

Terrassen-Grundriss: Esstisch mit Stühlen, Lounge-Sofa, Liege, runder Pool und Grill.

Dachterrasse mit Gartenlounge, Esstisch-Gruppe, Grill, Rundbecken und Gräserbegrenzung.

Thanks, I had already found those as well...
can you say something about the quality?

I cannot recommend artelia; they do not withstand full sun exposure. Ours have deteriorated and are breaking down the more sun they get. It was an expensive mistake in that regard!

Recently in Wiesbaden, I saw the furniture from April Furniture, and I plan to buy them for our house construction. Great design, excellent quality, and weather-resistant. Plus, made in Germany!

Thanks for sharing your experience. What do you mean by “deteriorate”? How long did they last?
I find the furniture from Artelia suspiciously cheap, and the many discount offers — 30%, 50%, 70% off at furniture stores — annoy me and seem untrustworthy.

Of course, you only really know later if the promises hold true, but I will take a look at them.

I looked into them; they cost several times more than artelia. In that case, you can also expect higher quality.

Hello Hamburch,

take a look at the following post: https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/welche-terrassenmoebel.34003/post-381660
Here you can see some pictures of our Artelia furniture. They used to offer a 10-year warranty, but they no longer do. I had quite a tough struggle with them until I received partial replacement.

If you buy cheaply, you end up buying twice.

That seems like a good tip, I’ll check it out next week.
Don’t underestimate the other tip either… it’s on the way!
