Hello everyone,
Since the house building project turned into buying an apartment, I am now planning the layout of the roof terrace.
It is located on the 7th floor, 6 x 5 meters (20 x 16 feet) and completely open on the roof.
On the one hand, I want to add greenery to the terrace, but on the other hand, I want to have some flexible protection from wind and sun.
However, this should not mean constantly setting up and taking down things.
Of course, it is important that nothing can be blown away, as that would be life-threatening.
The terrace has a continuous railing about 50 cm (20 inches) high, to which items can possibly be fixed.
I look forward to all your ideas.
Attached are 2 pictures; the “furnishing” is just for visualization.

The question is whether the terrace drainage can handle the more than 1000 liters (about 264 gallons) that would come from such a jacuzzi.
An outdoor water tap is available.

I’m still not entirely sure about the grill location either. It would probably fit well on the east roof terrace. On one hand, it’s more sheltered; on the other hand, that’s where the dining table is. And upstairs there would be more space for a chill-out area.

I would also ask about an outdoor water tap; every balcony or platform has a drain. Where is west?

Put the grill where you eat: the balcony next to the kitchen

Hello everyone,
things are getting serious now.
The grill will be placed on the east balcony, so that only seating furniture and similar items will remain on the rooftop terrace.
Plants will be arranged outside the railing.
I still need to check which installation options will actually be possible for sun protection.
Thanks for your tips so far!

Here I am again...
Does anyone have a specific recommendation (manufacturer / retailer) for outdoor lounge furniture?
I visited Garpa yesterday and nearly fell off my chair. Lounge furniture (Morgans Bay) about €15,000, sunshade (Positano) about €5,000, dining table and benches (Trey) about €4,500.
That is too much.
However, I don’t want a very cheap solution either. It should be of decent quality, but it doesn’t need to last for three generations.
Looking forward to tips and experiences.
