Hello everyone,
work on the garden is progressing steadily. We have a concrete path along the side of the house that I don’t find visually appealing at all. I would like to somehow cover or improve the appearance of the path and steps. Would it be possible to lay granite or concrete slabs about 2-3cm (around 1 inch) thick over the concrete? Or do you have any suggestions on how to cover or enhance it? Thanks.

In general, you can cover it with something. At tile specialty stores or home improvement centers, there is an endless selection of tiles along with the appropriate adhesive. Generally, the screed will need to be about 3–4 cm (1¼–1½ inches) thick to prevent cracking or frost damage.

But first, use a pressure washer to clean the concrete. You’ll need to do that anyway. You’ll be surprised how much the appearance of the path improves.

Yes, that would be a good start. I’ll clean it up properly in the next few days. However, a new covering should still be applied. I was just unsure about frost protection. I thought it wouldn’t be that simple to glue tiles onto it. But I’ll ask a tile installer friend what he thinks about it. Thanks
