We are currently planning for ourselves and estimating the costs for our plans.
If solar panels, a heat pump, electric roller shutters, and a wallbox are to be retrofitted, and a few new or additional sockets are to be installed throughout the house, would you expect a complete rewiring? That is, all cables replaced, fuse box etc.?

Definitely new. When this was planned and built, only a fraction of today’s electrical load was running through the wiring. Forty years ago, peak loads might have been around 3 kW. Today, you can reach that just by turning on the kettle. Of course, this is complex and creates a mess. But being careless here will cause problems later on.
