Hello everyone,

For our new build (KfW-70 standard), we recently received an energy demand calculation. I wanted to get some PROFESSIONAL OPINIONS on it.

Reference area: 290 m² (3120 ft²), net living area: 172 m² (1852 ft²)
- Transmission heat loss = 0.28 W/m²K (79% of reference value, 71% of Energy Saving Ordinance)
- Heating energy demand = 38 kWh/m²a
- Primary energy demand = 40.0 kWh/m²a (60% of reference value)
- Total final energy demand = 15.4 kWh/m²a
- Controlled ventilation system with 90% heat recovery
- Air-source heat pump

This means we should manage well with about 5000 kWh per year according to the calculation, which is less than 30 kWh per m² of net living area annually.
These values seem quite good to me for a "non-passive house"...

What does the expert community think? :-)

Unfortunately, that probably won’t come true. 😉 The energy saving ordinance values are purely comparative benchmarks and therefore are not suitable for sizing the heating system or for assessing the future actual energy demand or consumption.

Best regards.
